Why there are cookies at all
The calculators themselves need none — they run in the page and forget everything when you leave. Cookies come from three other places: remembering your own settings, measuring which pages work, and the advertising that pays for the site.
The categories
Strictly necessary
Always on, and set without asking, because the site cannot work correctly without them. These remember your consent decision itself, your light or dark theme choice, and your language. They contain no identifier that could be used to track you across other sites.

Analytics
Set only if you allow them. They tell us which tools are used, which pages are slow, and where people give up — which is how we decide what to fix and build next. The data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify individuals.
Advertising
Set only if you allow them. Google AdSense and its partners use these to choose which ads to show, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to measure whether ads worked. If you decline, you will still see ads — they will simply be non-personalised, chosen from the page content rather than your history.
Changing your choice
You can reopen the consent panel here and change any category, at any time. The change takes effect immediately.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies from its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will mean the site forgets your theme and asks about consent on every visit, but the calculators will still work.
For advertising specifically, you can also opt out at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices, which apply across every site rather than just this one.
Do Not Track
Browsers send a Do Not Track signal inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for honouring it, so we do not rely on it. Use the consent panel instead — it is unambiguous.
